Thoth provide two major anti-spam services, hosted and on-site.

Hosted Anti-Spam

With hosted anti-spam, you never need to worry about the details of configuring tools in the fight against unsolicited bulk email ("Spam"), and you never need to worry about network outages making you miss important email!

With this setup, your email goes to Thoth's secure data-center first, and is then sent to your business. If your business network connection fails, mail is queued at Thoth until service resumes. If a spammer decides to flood your domain, Thoth's resilient network takes the heat - keeping your network running.

Hosted anti-spam offers all of the features of on-site anti-spam, listed below.

On-Site Anti-Spam

Do you already have an on-site email setup? Microsoft Exchange, GroupWise, or a Linux-based setup? If so, then you could benefit from our on-site anti-spam system. Sitting in front of your existing mail servers (and requiring little to no configuration change), Thoth Anti-Spam checks all incoming (and optionally outgoing) mail for spam, viruses, and malicious content - and keeps your network safe.

Features (Both Hosted and On-Site)

The Thoth Anti-Spam system is standards-compliant, and is battle-proven at hundreds of thousands of messages per day. Features include:

• Automatic training. Messages that pass as ham ("not spam") or spam are used to train the system's responses to future emails.
• Email-based interface. Forward messages that should be marked as spam, messages that were incorrectly flagged as spam, or recipients who should be whitelisted, to special addresses we provide - and the system is trained immediately.
• DNS-based blacklisting. Take advantage of the combined resources of thousands of spam-fighters around the world, and refuse to even communicate with many of the world's worst spam offenders.
• Greylisting. At the expense of a small delay in receiving the first email from a domain, we can determine with a high-degree of accuracy if a sender is a real mail server, or a spam-bot. This has often cut 80% or more of unsolicited mail from our customer's inboxes!
• Bayesian Message Processing. Feeding each message through a Bayesian network, trained with your email data, we are able to reliably catch a large percentage of spam that passes through other tests.
• Anti-Virus. EVERY message is scanned, and viral traffic is blocked before it reaches your servers.
  
• Many other tests - over 100 "likely spam" tests are performed on each message!
